Walkable Places: Pittsburgh, PA

pittsburgh.jpg (58779 bytes)

This aerial photograph of a neighborhood in Pittsburgh shows many of the characteristics of the walkable communities. Most of the buildings are three-story rowhouses, a building type which lends itself well to high densities. A variety of land uses are present here, including houses, apartments, churches and shops. All streets are interconnected and have sidewalks, and parking is limited to curbside spaces. Photo Credit: www.airphotona.com
